I – Un mot sur la sortie de « In The Mood For Life »

Bonjour à tous,
Je suis fier de vous annoncer la sortie de mon 3° album « In The Mood For Life ». L’album sort en digital dès demain, lundi 14 septembre et lundi 21 septembre dans les bacs.

L’album est édité dans une version collector double CD digipak grand format comprenant outre l’album, un 2° CD avec l’album complet en version instrumentale. Parmi les invités de ce nouvel opus par ordre d’apparition, Charlotte Savary, Speech Defect, Sara Genn, Marina Quaisse, Mattic, Dionne Charles, Ali Harter, Voice, ASM, Charlie Winston.

Tous les visuels de ce disque sont signés de mon camarade TENAS qui a également réalisé les images qui accompagneront le nouveau spectacle.

Pour moi ce disque c’est plus d’un an de travail acharné. Travail artistique en studio mais aussi travail de l’ombre de tous les instants, ouvrage d’artisan. Comme certains le savent j’ai fait le choix de l’indépendance il y a déjà plus de dix ans. C’est une grande source de liberté dans mon approche de la musique, ça me permet de mener à bien mes projets sans aucune pression commerciale. Dans le même temps c’est aussi un combat de réussir à faire connaître cette musique au plus grand nombre et le plus loin possible avec toutes les barrières sur la route.

Dans ce combat le bouche à oreille a toujours été et reste mon meilleur allié, aussi merci de continuer à faire passer le message autour de vous. Je ne crois pas à l’arsenal répressif contre le téléchargement, par contre je crois qu’aujourd’hui comme hier des gens passionnés sont capables d’acheter un disque, non pas pour juste écouter la musique qu’ils peuvent trouver sans souci sur le net mais simplement par conviction, pour soutenir la démarche d’artistes qui sont eux-mêmes des passionnés avant toute chose.

« In The Mood For Life » c’est un titre que je traduirais volontiers par « d’humeur combattive face au quotidien » c’est dans cet état d’esprit que j’ai abordé cet album et que je compte aborder la tournée qui approche. Je reste convaincu que tout est possible, alors vous trouverez l’album en écoute libre sur mon site et je vous laisse seuls juges.

II – La tournée

Je reprends donc la route dès la fin du mois. Là aussi il y a eu un gros travail en amont. Je rentre en résidence cette semaine avec ma petite équipe afin de finaliser. Sur scène je serai accompagné par Charlotte Savary (chanteuse), Mattic (MC), Ludivine Issambourg (Flute) et Matthieu Detton (Violoncelle). Dans l’ombre par Julien Depardieu et ou Mathieu Gibert (ingés son), Maxime Lepers (lumières), David Manceaux (Tour manager). Comme déjà évoqué, la mise en image a été fomentée depuis des mois avec TENAS. Ensemble nous avons réfléchi et conçu un nouveau spectacle. III – Le maxi « This train/Leave it »

Enfin à l’occasion de la sortie de ce nouvel album j’ai préparé un maxi « This train/leave it » avec des remixes de Dafuniks et Blend aka Mishkin, un extended mix de Leave it et un inédit feat Mattic.

I.Hi everyone,

I am proud to announce the release of my third album "In The Mood For Life". The album comes out on September 22nd and will be available in four formats.
First off is a limited edition double CD containing a bonus disc with the instrumental version of the album. Borders stores will carry a super limited edition with the double CD and a CD-vinyl of the single "Say Yes (feat. ASM)". What is a CD-vinyl? Well it's a CD which has a vinyl track on it so you can also play it on a turntable. The album will also be available in a standard jewel case without the instrumental CD.

Many guests appear on the album. They are, in order of appearance, Charlotte Savary, Speech Defect, Sara Genn, Marina Quaisse, Mattic, Dionne Charles, Ali Harter, Voice, ASM, and Charlie Winston.
The artwork of this record was done by my good friend Tenas, who also made all the stage visuals that will accompany me on tour.
For me this record represents well over a year of hard work. Artistic work of course but also a less visible everyday hasstle and work that resembles that of an artisan. Over 10 years ago I decided to release music independently. It gives me complete artistic license, and I can create without any commercial pressure. At the same time, it's also a struggle to reach out to as many people as possible, no matter where they live, with a lot of hurdles to clear.
In this fight, word of mouth has always been my greatest ally, so please keep on spreading the word. I never believed repressive laws like the ones that passed in France are the way to go to fight piracy. I do believe, however, that passionate people will continue to buy a record, not just to listen to some music they can find online for free, but because they want to support the artist creating it and realize that these artists are driven by passion above all else.
"In The Mood For Life" is a title that reflects the mindset I was in when I was working on this album: to embrace life and the hardships that it throws your way with a fighting spirit. This is a mindset I will take with me as I prepare for my upcoming tour. I am convinced more than ever that we live in a world of endless possibilities, so I have put my whole album to stream for free on my website to let you make up your mind about the music.

I will go on the road starting in October. Here as well a lot of work has been done. I am starting the final rehearsals this week with the whole band to put the finishing touches on everything. Joining me onstage will be Charlotte Savary (Vocals), Mattic (MC), Ludivine Issambourg (Flute) and Matthieu Detton (Cello). Behind the scenes will be Julien Depardieu and / or Mathieu Gibert (Sound Engineers), Maxime Lepers (Lights), David Manceaux (Tour manager).
As previously mentionned all the tour visuals were created by Tenas over the past few months. Together we brainstormed and conceptualizer an entirely new show. All the dates are posted on the Tour section of my website (where you will find all links on the left) as well as on my Myspace page.
